We will talk about the challenges that founders face when developing new enterprise solutions. The role that accelerator programs can play in building customer pathways for B2B startups and the opportunities that COVID and the shift to a remote workforce have created for B2B startups looking to enter new international markets.
Speakers will share their experiences scaling B2B companies, top tips for securing your first customers, and what they look for when investing in companies that are developing enterprise solutions.
We will provide B2B startup founders with unique insights on the capital raising process and best practices when working with investors and will share 5-step perfectly refined process to a successful capital raise in 2021 and the ways to increase your potential investor to investor conversion ratio.
Sharon Hunneybel, CEO of Gold Coast Innovation Hub
Sharon has worked in software development and project management for most of my career, holding senior roles in some of Australia’s fastest growing companies including multi award winning software company, Opmantek.In 2017, I threw everything I had behind the formation and launch of the Gold Coast Innovation Hub (GC Hub). The GC Hub is a non-profit organization that has received Federal.In the years prior, I co-founded a number of initiatives in the innovation and startup space, including Startup Apprentice with Sam Winter, which launched on the Gold Coast in 2013. I was named by the Australian Financial Review as one of Australia’s 100 Women of Influence in 2018.
Steve Torso is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Wholesale Investor and WI Capital. Since launching in late 2008, Wholesale Investor has become Australia’s largest Capital Raising platform, showcasing Private, Pre-IPO and ASX Listed companies to over 31,000 high-net-worth and professional investors.
Steve is a regular contributor to the media in the private investment space, including the AFR, BRW, Sydney Morning Herald, Startup Smart, Smart Company, Sky Business Switzer, and Switzer.com.au.
Steve is also considered an opinion leader for companies who are seeking to raise capital. He has been a keynote presenter at events for the Australian Stock Exchange, Macquarie University, UTS, Queensland Government, WA Chamber of Commerce, AusBiotech, Thomson Reuters, DLA Piper and PwC.
Danny Maher, an avid tech investor and chairs investment group 42 Ventures
Mr Maher is global tech entrepreneur with a particular passion and knowledge of the startup ecosystem.
Having built and exited a number of highly successful tech companies around the world (including the NetStar group where he together with Allen & Buckeridge and Baring Private Equity Partners were the 100% shareholders), Mr Maher was named 2015 Australian CEO of the year ahead of Alan Joyce (Silver) – Qantas, and David Thodey (Bronze) -Telstra.
Mr Maher serves on a number of boards and is currently executive chair of multi award winning Network Management Software company Opmantek. Opmantek has been QLD ICT exporter of the year for the last 5 years, is a 2016 Winner of the American Business awards and twice Australian ICT exporter of the year. Opmantek has over 130,000 organisations using their software around the world with a new organisation implementing an Opmantek product every 6 minutes.
Mr Maher is a tireless contributor to the City and in addition to supporting the tech community is also active in the sports community. He chairs Gold Coast's current A-League bid and Gold Coast United FC - and if you like horse racing, you can chat to him about that - he's had some good ones including a Magic Millions winner, group one winners and a Melbourne Cup runner.
