In this session, we'll understand the main lessons learned by physician entrepreneurs at Hexarad and the best ways to engage physicians and healthcare decision-makers to create impactful solutions. We’ll also discuss the best ways to successfully navigate a career change from a regular job to that of a full-time entrepreneur. Hexarad is a tech-enabled teleradiology company based in the UK and recently chosen by the UK Department of International Trade as a First 100 company. Title Dr. Farzana Rahman BSC, MBBS, MSc, FRCR Bio Farzana is the CEO and co-founder of Hexarad. She has expertise in AI, strategy and policy. She is a trained physician and a former Consultant Radiologist at University College London Hospital. She was the former national Head of Data and Digital Strategy at the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and a Clinical Advisor at NHS Digital. Her work has included authoring national recommendations for the use of AI in healthcare. She was recently co-chair of the European Institute of Technology’s multi-country roundtable on AI in Healthcare. As well as her medical qualifications, Dr Rahman has a master’s in Health Economics, Policy and Management from the London School of Economics.

Title Dr. Sam Dumonteil BA (OXON), MA, MBBS, FRCR Bio Sam is the CFO and a co-founder of Hexarad. He has a background in physics, completing his degree at Oxford University. He worked as a commodities structured product trader for several years in the finance industry. He then decided to change career and trained as a doctor at St George’s University, London. He is a radiologist with expertise in Breast imaging and is the Deputy Director of Breast Screening for South West London. He has expertise in using data and technology to improve outcomes in Radiology

Title Dr. Amy Davis BSc, MBBS, MRCP, FRCR Bio Amy is co-founder and CCO of Hexarad and a consultant radiologist in London. She is also an experienced medical journalist with over 10 years of experience as an Associate Editor of The BMJ where she founded a medical education series called Endgames. More than a decade later this series remains one of the most popular sections of the journal. Amy has also previously worked at BMJ Open as an Associate Clinical Editor focusing on large research trials.
